Sports Injuries

All injuries are assessed by using a range of tests to determine a treatment.
Biomechanical assessments:
~Range of movements - muscles and joints
~Posture and muscle condition
~Flexibility of a damage muscle
~Possible causes

Treatment will then consist of the following depending on which stage of injury the healing process is at:

~Inflammatory injuries will be treated with ice/heat
~Deep tissue massage to accelerate healing
~Strength and movement to restore the injured part to normal
~Postural and technical correction as required
~Balance work
~Correcting muscle balance

Postural and muscular correction

Postural and muscular condition assessments can indicate areas treat need special attention.
Muscles have a memory they remember their last action.
This means that poor posture can become a habit which directly affects the balance and work distribution on all muscles of the body. If a muscle is over used it will fatigue. If this is not corrected injuries will start to appear as the body protects itself by discouraging further use.
